The right to remain silent

“You have the right to remain silent.” Why do police say that everytime they arrest someone?

I learned from the honorable Minister jap that you shouldn’t try to hold court in the streets. Meaning, when you get pulled over or arrested, let them do their job and fight it when its time to fight it. Dont try to convince them of your innocence when emotions are higher than they should be.

Humans know that other humans say things they dont intend to say when they say it, so we allow, and would prefer that you dont put your foot in your mouth when you speak without thinking.

“id rather be thought of as a fool than open my mouth and remove all doubt.” -Abraham Lincoln

Ive learned that “To sell, is to listen.” Meaning, you should be listening 75% of the convo and talking 25% of the convo. Potential customers want to feel heard, they dont care about how cool you are, they just want to know if you can solve their problems or not.

We regret the stuff we say more than not speaking up.

The best public speakers have a slower pace than the average orator. Its part effect but also part “thinking about what youre going to say before you say it.”

One thing im working on is thinking harder about what it say, when i say it, and how i say it.

“One time a wise man said nothing at all”

Let’s get 1% better everyday
