The Evolution of your TV Entertainment bill
We all understand that On-demand tv is better than scheduled programming. Is it truly on-demand if Amazon Prime only releases a show a week on a certain day at the same time every week?
We “cut the chord” about 4 years ago. We canceled Comcast and took them back their stuff. We had YouTube Tv for some months and we noticed that Comcast didnt offer more in channels than YouTube Tv did. Internet from Xfinity was all we needed to have our entertainment.
But one thing i noticed was that our “entertainment” bill was slowly creeping towards what we used to pay for through Xfinity.
We were paying $150 a month with comcast and here is how we could have gotten close to that number with streaming service subscriptions:
Youtube Tv $60
Hulu $15
Amazon Prime $10
Netflix $14
HBO Max $12
Paramount $15
As you can see, not all these apps have everything one would need. Or thats what we think. Some of these apps may be used for only one show. A cool thing about these streaming services is that you can take your show with you on the road. All you need for hotels and AirBNB’s is a login. I also love how i can login on a computer anywhere. Cable made it nearly impossible to watch anywhere outside of your home. Also you couldnt put it on every single screen you wanted because of chords and set top boxes.
I have a feeling that in the future we will all end up paying something close to what we were paying for cable for all these subscriptions. I also think that a company with consolidate all these streaming services under one bill/login. Which will make us want to “cut out” once again.
