How the Flurona was enlightening

My wife got the bug first. Then it went to my 10month old daughter. Then i got it. It was the day after Christmas and my daughter and I are still dealing with the yucky mucus.
Her snot is green and im hawking up some loogies that are spit-competition ready.
Ive never been one to admit im sick, i say “i have symptoms of XYZ sickness.” If I have a runny nose or a itchy throat, ill say that is what im experiencing and move on with life. Also not into meds for colds and light stuff.
This Flurona was different. The sore throat was intense! But the most interesting part about it was that a lot of other people had the same sickness when I had it. It made me feel mortal, not that i feel immortal, but i rarely get sick and dont associate with “flu szn.”
When i realized that the cold may have been actual Covid, i realized that i became a statistic. Joseph Stalin said, “one mans death is a travesty, a million deaths is a statistic.” I realized that its not bad when everyone else has it and that I shouldnt take myself so seriously. If im part of millions that had it at that specific time, im not a special snowflake.
It makes me feel good to be a part of the Flurona family. Let’s use the current times to help keep our heads level and to remind us that we are merely a statistic in this universe.
