Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

…..Matthew 4:1–4

Days and nights are different, and should be treated as much. Most people are occupied during the day. When one is occupied, its less likely they will embark on some BS. The best way to not let yourself get caught up in infidelity, sloth, gambling etc etc, is to stay on a mission. When a man is on a war path, not much can derail him.

When you have tons of time in your day, your mind can wander towards things that wont benefit you long term. An idle mind is the devils playground. At night, when there is nothing pressing, thats where the idle mind wanders.

I love how the scripture states “forty days and forty nights” instead of just forty days. The nights are real important. Like really important because you have to live them and endure them.

How do we keep out of trouble during the idle nights? Always be working on something that your future self will thank you for.

Let’s get 1% better everyday
