10X conference Miami 2017
South Beach lit.
Sitting on the back row in a 40,000 sqft conference room. Every seat faced the stage and every row had a table to sit at and take notes and consume what was being delivered by the 24 well renowned speakers over 3 days. Paid $996 to get the conf ticket. Flight and 4 nights and multiple uber rides. I dont eat cheap. It adds up and was totally worth it. Got my moneys worth from being present for about half of the conference.
You ever have those internal moments where you knew you grew on the inside? Like you do something and know that it is new for you and you internally pat yourself on the back. I would really like to go to the Smithsonian this year. Im pretty chill and easy going. No true boiling point. If something is a problem i see it as a “my problem” and not their/its problem. As im sitting down taking notes as Tim Storey is delivering a well sculpted speech, 3 men sit next to me on my left. After the proverbial head-nods i continue to consume the info being brought forth. The nee group of guys all know eachother and are being a distraction. I can barely focus for the last 5 mins of the speech. There is a 15 minute Q&A and its hard to focus. I try to figure out how to block them out and only focus on whats on stage. After some struggles, i simply tell myself i am going to move seats. Than i think; What will they think if I just get up and move? Will they feel bad or get defensive. Than i thought, “i dont really care.” I got up and moved over to the next row to the right and never looked back. The next two speakers i could hear perfectly. It felt good because normally i would gut through it to not make them feel a certain way.
A 3-day conference at the Diplomat Hotel. First day was solid. Didnt go the second day. 3rd day i went to half. I wanted to see the beach and to see Miami in the day. Not sure when ill get to go back but it was a great time alone and at my own will. The Drake More Life dropped. Would have been nice if Chelsea could have made it. Solitude is lit and i got more done than i would have at home in the bay area for the business. Got 2 workouts in. First hotel i initially booked was in the hood so i moved out of that after night one and stayed at a trusted courtyard in a better location.
Didnt get as much reading done as i wish. Bought 2 tees for Hawaii in 3 days with Chelsea. Im more of a rental car guy. Uber doesnt allow one to roam and explore and joyride. Id rather hop in the car and not have a true route to a destination. I would like to pick areas instead an actual address. These Kit&Ace pants are life. American Airlines always delayed. Will continue to invest in myself. Lets win.
